Sony's Playstation 3 (PS3) console was first released in U.S. on November 17th, 2006, two days before the Wii. The PS3 has
significantly more computing power than the Xbox 360 and the Wii, and is the only console that uses Blu-Ray Discs. There are
five PS3 versions, which are denoted by their hard drive size (20GB, 40GB, 60GB, 80GB, 160GB). The only PS3 models still in
production are the 80GB version, and the 160 GB version is a limited edition.
An additional feature of the Playstation 3 is that it can connect to Sony's free online gaming service, the Playstation Network, if
you have an internet connection and a router. One key aspect of the Playstation Network is Playstation Home, which is a virtual-community
where users can create their own avatars. Avatars have an apartment, which can be decorated, they can interact with other players, and
they can play online games.
